About
Mr Russell was born and raised in Adelaide. He obtained a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours at the University of Adelaide, and worked as a Structural Engineer, prior to undertaking a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at Flinders University. He quickly discovered the value of engineering principles in orthopaedic surgery, which he utilises to this day.
He completed orthopaedic specialist training with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2014, and subsequently undertook an advanced clinical fellowship at the world renowned Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Combining his international experience with local training, Mr Russell continues to maintain his skills at the forefront of modern orthopaedic care through regular education and training. He is passionate about advancing the science and practice of orthopaedic surgery. His involvement in research has been published and presented both locally and internationally, and he is actively involved in training the next generation of surgeons through evidence-based education and training.
